so maybe i'm a little behind on things, but anyway I've been hearing things about this and other Touhou games so I decided to try one. I downloaded Perfect Cherry Blossom (the one I've heard the most about) from the site doujinstyle.com
wow it is a great top down shooter. it's a lot of fun. it is kind of cutesy- you play as a witch flying and using magic (i think that's the story anyway, i didnt really pay much attention to the story part). you have to dodge patterns of bullets that are really intense. the music is very nice too.
there are several other games from the group who made this that I'll probably try eventually, but I want to get better at this one first. it kicks my ass.
another game I've been hearing good things about is Dwarf Fortress. totally different genre. I havnt tried it yet, but my roommate seems impressed with it.

(Rev 5:5-6 NIV) Then one of the elders said to me, "Do not weep! See, the Lion of the tribe of Judah, the Root of David, has triumphed. He is able to open the scroll and its seven seals." {6} Then I saw a Lamb, looking as if it had been slain, standing in the center of the throne, encircled by the four living creatures and the elders. He had seven horns and seven eyes, which are the seven spirits of God sent out into all the earth.
Here we have the first appearance of one of the great symbols in Revelation - the Lamb. The word Lamb occurs 31 times in Revelation although on one occasion it refers to the beast out of the earth (13:11) a counterfeit lamb. First the elder explains who the Lamb is and then John sees the Lamb, looking as if it had been slain. The Lion of the tribe of Judah refers to Gen 49:9, Jesus was descended from the tribe of Judah. Jesus is the root as well as descendent of David (Isa 11:1, 10; Mat 22:41 ff).
The 'Lamb, looking as if it had been slain' is a clear reference to Jesus, both John and Peter refer to Jesus being the Lamb of God (John 1:29, 36, 1 Pet 1:19), 'Look, the Lamb of God, who takes away the sin of the world! (John 1:29). Paul call Jesus our Passover lamb who has been sacrificed (1 Cor 5:7). The Lamb looked as if it had been slain, this is a reference to the crucifixion, but he is standing because he rose again. In one brilliant stroke John portrays his central theme of NT revelation--victory through sacrifice (Mounce). The Lamb of God is alluded to in Genesis 22:7 when Abraham is about to sacrifice Isaac, Isaac asks where the lamb for the burnt offering, and Abraham replies 'God himself will provide the lamb for the burnt offering my son'. He is the Paschal lamb of the Passover, Exo 12:3-21, when the destroying angel saw the blood of the Lamb on the lintels of the doors he passed over the Israelites and killed the first born of the Egyptians instead. Isa 53:3 ff. is one of many Messianic mentions of the lamb in the OT but it is probably the greatest, he describes the Messiah as 'like a lamb to the slaughter, and as a sheep before her shearers is silent, so he did not open his mouth'.

I had my last final yesterday evening. I think I did fine. I spoke with my Physics professor. He said I should have an A in the class for the semester. Grades dont get posted until thursday. I'm pretty confident in my grades in my calc and discrete classes, but I'm still a little nervous to find out.
I applied to a job at the hospital, but I havn't heard back from them. It would be nice to be working again.

big physics test today. 25% of the class grade kid of big!
I was pretty nervous, but I think I did ok. probably not A++ ok, but not too bad. one question in particular was stumping me, but after the test I found a similar example in the text that made me think I did it right. it was like, there is a pendulum, it is at 40 degrees with the vertical, traveling at some velocity, with a length and mass. find the tension when at this angle. anyway, I'll see how i did on wednesday.
I'm getting closer to finals, so it feels like my two main classes (physics and calculus) are moving faster to get all the material in before the semester end. I have to make sure I keep up! I'm currently having some struggle with optimization problems, but hopefully my instructor will use a simpler problem for the tests. I still have one test in calculus and a few quizzes in physics before the finals.

i started my discrete math class tonight. it seems pretty interesting. my instructor was cool too.
i'm going to try to spend more time studying at school. I dont want to fall behind in anything. chemistry, which i thought would be pretty easy, is being kind of intimidating. I will do it though! I cant attend all of the GSA meetings this semester because I have a class at that time. I still want to be a member though. I might look into some other groups.

i got pokemon pearl for nintendo ds
i'm so excited. i cant wait to discover new, exciting pokemons!
seriously, i feel like a kid. anyway, if I'm not sure how the online system works, but maybe later I would be able to trade and battle with people online. it would be fun if anyone has it and wanted to play together. unless i am wrong and online is only for trading.
i started my spring classes. everything is going fine so far. i have calculus, chemistry, and physics. I'm signed up to start discrete math on the 28th. I'm considering dropping it to focus on the other three because calculus and physics seem like they may be very intense courses. i dont need the discrete for my program; i was just interested in it. I will see what i think of that class once it starts though.
i have a lot of doubt about what i want to do 'when i grow up.' i'll try to just do my best for now and figure it out along the way.
